Seek and ye shall find...

If the New Testament were a collection of secular writings, their authenticity would generally be regarded as beyond all doubt.
~ F. F. Bruce ~

The late Professor FF Bruce of Manchester University made the following observation: ‘The evidence for our New Testament writings is ever so much greater than the evidence for many writings of classical authors, the authenticity of which no one dreams of questioning.’ He goes on to say, ‘And if the New Testament were a collection of secular writings, their authenticity would generally be regarded as beyond all doubt’ (FF. Bruce, The New Testament Documents: Are they reliable? (IVP 1960) p.15).

Why do you think that is? I think the main reason is that if the Bible is true, people will have to change the way they think and live. That’s why I believe so many people dismiss the Bible. It’s not because there is insufficient evidence for its reliability, but rather they are determined to keep God out of their lives. But simply dismissing the Bible does not change it’s message or it’s teaching. If the Bible is true, then that has huge implications for everyone’s eternal destination - including yours. Therefore, don’t put this off any longer, make it your aim to examine the truth of the Bible and in particular the claims of Jesus Christ.

Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me,
and I will hearken unto you.
And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations

Jeremiah 29:12-14

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.
For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened...
If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

Luke 11:9-10,13

Thank You Lord for rebuilding your walls of truth in me, and for allowing me to see the power of your Word in the midst of a world that screams at us the desire for it to be foolishness. I'm constantly amazed by being able to experience the words of the song, I once was blind - but now I see.

Thank You Father for Your amazing grace.

Help us follow Christ and live a life of amazement and praise to You Lord. Help us not just say empty words, but actually realize that Your grace is truly amazing.

Hide Your Word in our hearts, and help us to do Your Will - so the world can see Christ changing our lives and then cry out to You to be saved by Your grace themselves.

You promise if we seek You and ask for You that You won't deny us a relationship with You.

Revive us and help us live lives through You that make them want to seek You...
