Worship

Worship is the submission of all of our nature to God.

It is the quickening of conscience by His holiness,

Nourishment of mind by His truth,

Purifying of imagination by His beauty,

Opening of the heart to His love,

And submission of will to His purpose.

And all this gathered up in adoration is the

Greatest of human expressions of which we are capable.

- William Temple

Lord,

Awaken my conscience, by making me stand in awe of your Holiness;

Nourish my mind with the gift of understanding of the truth of Your Word through Your Holy Spirit;

Sanctify my thoughts through meditation on Your holiness and Your glory that shines in the face of Jesus Christ;

Enter into my heart and open it to love You and all others, the way You first loved us;

Create in me a desire to do Your Will and glorify You in all I do;

Renew me, excite me, and help me express my adoration for You always;

I am only capable through You to express this greatest expression to You and for You.

Start a revival, that we might express Your glory with the adoration and excitement you deserve. Help us love You more.

Help us worship You.

Turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine; and we shall be saved.
- Psalms 80:3

For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones. - Isaiah 57:15

Psalm 57

...Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.
He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.
My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.
They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.
My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.
I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.
Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.
